Steve has been in the mortgage business since June,1997. He first started working for a refinance company. Within 8 months into origination production, he was promoted to Branch Manager. Steve worked for the company 6 years and in late 2003, opened his own Mortgage Brokerage Company with 3 team members. The company grew quickly and by 2006 had grown to 23 employees producing an average of 6 million in production per month. In 2009, with the safe act going into law, Steve became certified to teach NMLS approved pre-licensing and continuing education classes which he enjoys and continues to do today! He presently manages a branch for Gold Financial Services in Albuquerque offering a wide variety of products for home buyers and homeowners helping his clients achieve and maximize homeownership opportunities. As a community minded individual, Steve volunteers in several capacities. He enjoys volunteering on several different committees at GAAR as well as serving on the board of the NM association of Mortgage Professionals. Steve also volunteers as a scout leader for his sons’ troop. Steve has been married to his wife Faye for 27 years and they have 4 children. Steve enjoys traveling, hiking, camping, playing racquetball, sports and reading.
